Radiology Imaging Associates responds to recent CT Scanning Protocols

Radiology Imaging Associates

We, at Radiology Imaging Associates, have been closely following the recent developments of some sites nationally which have experienced excessive radiation exposure during certain CT scanning protocols.

Over the summer, when these news reports surfaced, we had our physicist carefully review not only our protocols but also the dosages for all of our CT scanners at the Radiology Imaging Associates three practices.

Our review and analysis showed that we were within acceptable parameters in all of our units. In addition, all CT units at Radiology Imaging Associates are ACR accredited and our technologists are ARRT certified.

As we have in the past, we will continue to closely monitor our entire CT scanning protocols as well as perform regular radiation dose measurements, monitoring and assessment by our medical physicist. This will assure the ongoing validity and quality assurance that you have come to expect from us.

It is our commitment to perform all radiological procedures, including and specifically CT procedures, at the lowest possible radiation doses in order to minimize our patients’ radiation exposure, thus ensuring their safety while delivering the highest quality diagnostic images.

If you have any questions whatsoever, we would be happy to discuss this further with you.

We would like to stress that there has never been an episode of excessive radiation exposure involving any of our scanners or other equipment at Radiology Imaging Associates. We will continue to closely monitor these national developments.

Sincerely,

Radiology Imaging Associates
