What is a mammogram?

A mammogram is a low dose x-ray of the breast. It is used to find cancer and other problems in the breast. A mammogram is the most sensitive diagnostic test available for early detection of breast cancer. Mammography can detect breast cancer tumors up to two years before they can be felt during a physical breast examination.
